Step 5. Run the ODIN exe program in the ODIN folder that you unzipped.

Step 6. You should see a blue-highlighted box with a random COM number.  If you don’t see this, run the Samsung USB driver program and reconnect your microUSB then continue.

Step 7. If your stock firmware has more than 1 file, you will need to flash them in the BL, AP, CP, and CSC boxes, just match them with the beginning of the file names.

If you only see one file, choose “AP” and select the file.

Step 9. After about 5-10 minutes, this should have completed flashing stock firmware on your Galaxy S7 or S7 Edge.   Your phone will reboot and you should see a welcome screen like below:

This method also does not set off the KNOX counter, meaning it doesn’t void warranty.

Hey max, I can really use your advice. I rooted my s7 edge using the method you provided, and installing a custom rom which also you provided, before I carry on I would like to thank you for all that. But my phone seems to have a black dot at the edge of the screen/ faulty. If I unroot my phone with this method, will it get back my warranty? I’m confused as I heard you its got something to do with the knox…. I’m sorry but I’m new to the whole android.

      • Ruben says:

Make sure you have installed the phone drivers.. Install samsung kies.. It comes with the drivers.. After installed reboot computer, then plug in your phone and let your computer recognize your phone(make sure it recognizes it).. After that try again.. If you still have problems make sure your using odin 3.12.3.. If it still hangs then use different usb port.. Or even different usb wire.

Using Odin 3.12.3 with the 930T image provided in link fails similar to last 2 posters.

      • Bill says:

I found another firmware that works. You need to match your build number in my case (G930TUVU3APG1) The boot screen still indicates customer (unlock pick) however and would like this completely back to factory.

  20. At says:

Hi. I rooted my phone couple days ago. My device is SM-G935T (US T-mobile) I removed some of the system applications with out a back up file. And now I tried to unroot the phone I did everything as the webside shown. I have the latest Odin, but when I try to start flash the firmware it didn’t complete it keep failing. Now the root checker said the device is unroot, but I couldn’t get the Smartswitch to work. I don’t know what else I have to do.

    • Gabe says:

I encountered this same problem, here’s what I did different to get a PASS
      Used Odin 3.12.3 Prince Comsy
Downloaded firmware from another site (G935TUVU3APG1 instead of G935TUVU2APC8)
While it did not get rid of the Android Custom logo, it did get my phone out of a soft brick after 3+ hours of research and failure.

Will unrooting with this method remove the customized android boot screen notification that shows when booting up the phone? I’m planning on unrooting to sell my phone experiencing extreme heat on my phone. I use my phone for driving Uber and it heats up in the middle of a drive and just stops working. Thank you.

Please, can someone help me find the oficial rom for the Sprint Galaxy S7. I rooted the phone but is not working properly. I want to get it unroot.. I found some online, but when I try to unzip it, it always gives an error.

  26. Trent says:

I’ve done everything step by step. Lastest version of Odin latest USB Drivers and Stock firmware. It just keeps failing. I don’t know what could possibly be wrong.

  27. Jimmy says:

for those that fet “Failed” message using Odin, did you check ‘OEM Unlock’ ? and turn on USB Debugging in ‘Developer Options?

    • Nick says:

@Jimmy: I used TWRP to wipe all Dalvik/Data/System/Cache then entered Download Mode, installed with Odin which didn’t seem to care if those options were ticked and worked without a problem 🙂

@Admin : Thanks. Flashed stock MM then received official Nougat update! Works like a feather.

    • Joe says:

I cant even load my phone, its stuck on download.

    • Tatiana Alvarado says:

Oem unlock was on for me I don’t think USB debug was turned on the thing is that this does not longer matter once you are in a bootloop wich is my case stuck on tmobile logo nothing seems to work
